Product Description

AMETHYST (Kathela)

Amethyst is a crystalline form of the stone. It has the tendency to help its wearer in every form. As per its color (Purplish), an Amethyst represents two major Chakras of our spiritual body, namely “Third-Eye Chakra” and “The Crown Chakra”. An Amethyst enhances the divine properties of these two Chakras helping in its wearer to grow with more of spirituality.

Amethyst is the gemstone for Saturn. An ill-placed Saturn in a birth chart can cause poverty and suffering. Wearing Amethyst can be advantageous for those for whom Saturn is the lord of an auspicious house. If Saturn, as lord of an auspicious house, is afflicted or ill disposed, Amethyst may help to neutralize its effect.

Amethyst has been used as gemstones and other ornamental objects for thousands of years. The early Greeks believed that amethyst would protect one from the effects of drunkenness when consuming alcohol. A possible explanation for this unusual virtue being given to amethyst is that when water is poured into a cup fashioned of amethyst, it would have the appearance of wine yet could be drunk without experiencing wine's normal inebriative effect. In ancient cultures, amethyst amulets were worn as antidotes against poison, to dispell sleep, as protection against harm in battle and to sharpen one's wits. In medieval times, amethyst was still credited with protecting one from the effects of drunkenness, both of the cup and also from the intoxicating effects of being in love. The wearing of amethyst was also known to protect soldiers from harm and give them victory over their enemies, and assist hunters with the capture of wild animals.

Wearing Amethyst protects against danger, travel problems, terror, thieves, accidents and problems from storms, fire, or natural disasters. It can cause financial fortunes to change for the better, help with a person’s career, and make the wearer rich. It can free one of mental anxiety. It helps make one detached, and protects against envy. It can be worn for good luck and for protection against evil spirits. It also helps to cure bad blood, mental problems, headache, vomiting, deafness, fainting, and may make the bones stronger.

Since Saturn rules the nervous system, Amethyst help problems of the nerves-tension and neuroses-diseases caused by an afflicted Saturn. Because Saturn is the slowest moving planet, it tends to cause chronic disease.

The astrological signs of amethyst are Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius and Capricorn.

Amethyst is the birthstone for the month of February.

Amethyst is the symbolic gemstone for the 17th wedding anniversary.

Very dark amethyst, mostly in small sizes, is also mined in Australia. Amethyst is available in a wide range of calibrated sizes and shapes, including many fancy shapes.
